Garden Committee
We have a new garden committee and we are making great strides toward improving our beautiful space. We have plotted out a twelve month calendar, identifying what we plan to do each month to the garden.
In February, we applied pre-emergent weed control began pruning, and cleaned out beds. In March applied fertilizer, insect spray and accepted delivery of bark and rock for placement. In April, we activated the drip irrigation system. In April we will also planted eight trees and over 100 plants, and repaired the pond to stop the leaking.
The committee held a successful garden fundraiser on ArborDay. The committee identified the specific perennial plants that individuals could buy to contribute. The person who contributed the plant was able to plant and apply bark. We at Four Rivers want the community to take advantage of this beautiful space. People can stop by for their lunch hour, or grab a friend and come over and have their coffee. Barbara Wilson and Susan Kurth serve as Co-Chairmen of the committee, which also includes Doreen Laufer, Cheryl Parris and Benny Seiders. We are extremely excited about what this committee is contributing to the Center.
